--Jennifer Hartley, Ottawa Life Magazine "Bear & Co., you have a hit on your hands… If this were stock, I’d be buying shares in Bear & Co., like now.” --Allyson Domanski, Ottawa Tonite "Wonderful show, full of love and warmth, his mischievous spark and deep longing. Thank you for this evening." --Jenya L. "Your arrangement interweaving the Unetaneh Tokef with 'Who by Fire' was the most wonderful thing I have ever heard in my life—bar none.” --Daniel B. "Last night's performance of No Way to Say Goodbye was a lovely, intimate and unforgettable evening 'hanging out' w a bunch of talented musicians. Technical Information Sheet
December 2017
Stage
This production creates a welcoming atmosphere of both an intimate living room and a warm concert stage. The performance area is 30’wide by 20’deep and adjustable to suit the venue. The living room is set on a bare black stage with white stripes on the floor and up the back wall that catch the lights. Floating over the line of stripes are 9 Edison bulbs that link the concert area to the firmament.
Set & Props
The set consists of:
Supplied by venue where possible
The show uses a variety of musical instruments including guitars, bohdran, mandolin, flute, accordion and hand percussion items. The bass and 1 guitar are amplified from the amps onstage. No mics or mixing are required for halls up to 300 seats depending upon acoustics.
Performers
There are 4 performers and 1 stage manager.
Lights
In its simplest form the show requires a living room area, a concert area, a light over the piano and 4 specials across the DS edge of the stage. Where possible four circuits are required for the 9 Edison bulbs. The cast also enters the audience area at a few points during the show, if this is practical given the performance venue. The audience lights come up a few times during the show to encourage them to sing along. More detailed lighting information will be provided based on venue layout and equipment.
