Holiday time: so many traditions! So much joy in such a difficult time, as we gather to share an hour.
Dylan Thomas transports us to a snow-blanketed town—the seaside Welsh town where he was born. Rachel Eugster and Nicholas D. Amott bring his rough-and-tumble characters to life, share their own holiday memories, and send your spirits soaring with midwinter harmonies. Join us for candle-lighting and stories, and a sweet carol hum.
Whether your December is never complete without hearing this story, or whether this will be your first experience of Thomas’s lyrical classic, this is for you.
Come share a warm hug of a show. And build your Christmas memories all over again.
Note: Distanced seating is guaranteed for all shows. We ask that you stay masked except when actively sipping a drink, but please feel free to hum along to the carols inside your masks!
Tickets can be purchased online or over the phone from The Gladstone Theatre.
This is a Canadian Actors' Equity Association production under the Artists' Collective Policy.

CTV OTTAWA MORNING LIVE interviews Eleanor, Rachel, and Nick.
THE CREATIVE TEAM
Nicholas David Amott—Ensemble
A native actor and playwright of Ottawa, Nicholas is making his seventh appearance on the Gladstone stage within the past five years. (But do the last two really count?) He has gotten no younger, but continues to be ever the saucier.
Recent Gladstone credits include King Lear (Bear & Co.), Nell Gwynn (Three Sisters), and Little Shop of Horrors (another company), as well his own work: ARNOTT: A Masterclass in Theatring.
It's good to be back. Enjoy, kids! Happy Holidays.
And, as always, make cupcakes, not war.

Eleanor Crowder—Director
Eleanor is SO pleased to be making theatre live again. Forty years of stages weigh very light in the human scales of the last 2 seasons, but a career of scripts and gesture, grand passions and telling detail proves a strong foundation for survival of the spirit. Thanks to the brave teams of Zoom actors who dared new territory with me.
Most recently The Skins Songs Collective pioneered a Covid-friendly dance theatre fusion, a format we'll keep. Thank-you to TACTICS for their support. And to you, for making this next step a shared delight.

Rachel Eugster—Ensemble
It is balm to the spirit to return to the theatre—slowly and carefully--with this sweet holiday show!
Rachel’s most recent work at the Gladstone (Fall 2019) was in Lightfoot in Song, Bear’s third tribute to a beloved musical artist. Prior to that, she directed Bear’s outdoor summer touring production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and music for King Lear.
Other highlights include playing Quiney and William Shakespeare in Three Sisters’ Miss Shakespeare; appearing in Bear’s smash-hit tribute to Leonard Cohen, No Way to Say Goodbye; playing Martha in Virginia Woolf (also Bear); and playing Æmilia Lanyer in her own original play Whose Æmilia? (Spidersilk Productions), whose central character might have been Shakespeare’s Dark Lady of the Sonnets (or not!). Rachel hopes that a remount of this play in Massachusetts planned for April 2020 that was cancelled by the pandemic will be rescheduled soon! And she looks forward to appearing in Three Sisters’/SevenThirty’s upcoming production of The Secrets of Primrose Square in February/March 2022.
Rachel is a founding member of Bear & Co. and of the Purring Dragons Ensemble, and is the director of the Tamir Neshamah Choir. She is also the author of the award-winning picture book The Pocket Mommy (Tundra/Penguin Random House). Order it from your local indie bookstore!
